COLD ROOM

A cold room is a temperature-controlled storage unit designed to preserve perishable goods and sensitive products for longer durations. It is built with insulated panels on the walls, floor, and ceiling to prevent heat transfer and maintain a consistent low temperature. The refrigeration system, consisting of a compressor, condenser, and evaporator fan, circulates chilled air evenly throughout the space. Digital controllers allow precise temperature settings, usually ranging from just above freezing to deep freezing levels. Cold rooms are fitted with airtight insulated doors, safety release handles, and sometimes heater strips to prevent condensation. Inside, stainless steel or galvanized racks provide organized storage. Safety features such as alarm systems alert users if the temperature exceeds safe limits. Cold rooms are widely used in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, floriculture, and chemicals. Essentially, they function as large refrigerators that ensure freshness, safety, and quality while reducing spoilage and extending product life.
